Wild About Walking: Seasons of Science Brings Free Nature Exploration to Local Breweries
March 2026
Seasons of Science, an outreach initiative from Texas State University’s Department of Biology in partnership with the Hays County Master Naturalists, invites the community to step outside and explore nature during Wild About Walking, a two-day, family-friendly science event celebrating seasonal change and outdoor discovery.
Held at two local venues, The Shady Llama and Roughhouse Brewing, these spring events transform familiar community spaces into interactive science hubs where visitors of all ages can learn, play, and connect with the natural world.
Designed as come-and-go experiences, Wild About Walking encourages participants to explore at their own pace through hands-on activities, nature-based games, and guided outdoor explorations offered throughout the afternoon.
Event Highlights:
Free, family-friendly science fun for all ages
Come-and-go crafts, games, and mini-lessons
Guided nature explorations offered hourly
Opportunities to learn about local plants, wildlife, and seasonal changes
