Bird Behavior Hike with Travis Audubon

Join Travis Audubon's Derek Richardson and Hays County Parks staff for a bird walk at Karst Canyon Preserve. Opened to the public earlier this year, this 174-acre preserve in Wimberley lies just north of Jacob’s Well Natural Area. The walk will last 2.5 hours during which we will walk approximately 1.5 miles.
The preserve supports several habitats, particularly mixed oak–juniper woodland and savanna/prairie. Although there are no early-September eBird checklists for the preserve, observations from nearby Jacob’s Well suggest that we may find flycatchers, vireos, and tanagers, along with early fall migrants such as Wilson’s Warbler.
