Bird Behavior Hike with Travis Audubon
November 22, 2026 7:15 AM –9:45 AM
Join Travis Audubon's Derek Richardson and Hays County Parks staff for a bird walk at Karst Canyon Preserve. The walk will last 2.5 hours during which we will walk approximately 1.5 miles. The preserve supports several habitats, particularly mixed oak–juniper woodland and savanna/prairie. Although there are no late-November eBird checklists for the preserve, observations from nearby Jacob’s Well suggest we can expect typical winter residents such as Ruby-crowned Kinglet, various sparrow species, winter warblers, and perhaps Hermit Thrush.
Admission and parking are free. Registered participants will receive specific parking and meeting instructions before the walk. Registration and more information at the Travis Audubon website.
